Dr. Hummel grew up in the South Jersey area. She has always interested in science, and is a big dog lover. It wasn’t until college that she realized the career opportunities that vet med provides! Dr. Hummel worked her summer and winter breaks during college at Mt. Laurel Animal Hospital. She started as a kennel attendant and worked her way from tech assistant to a technician.

Dr. Hummel attended the University of Delaware for undergraduate where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the Biological Scholars Award. Then Dr. Hummel went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and received the Opportunity Scholar Award.

Now, Dr. Hummel is a part of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association and Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Her professional interests include Surgery, Dentistry, and Dermatology.

When ask what her favorite part of being a veterinarian is, Dr. Hummel answered, "Empowering clients to have the knowledge to care for their pets at home and advocate for them in the office. Building trust with owners and then having them take the next step in their pets healthcare is always my goal."

During her free time Dr. Hummel enjoys resistance training, hiking, and exploring national parks with her husband. At home they have Bumbles, an Eskimo mixed breed dog.
